Watermelon

Come summer and the streets and corners of the city are dotted with this fleshy and juicy watermelon that tempts you to stop your vehicle get down and dig your teeth into this succulent fruit. The origins of the watermelon are from South Africa. There are more than twelve hundred varieties of watermelon from around the world. They are a member of the Curcurbitaceae family and the plant is a vine, which grows on the ground. The watermelon by weight is 92% water, is a good source of vitamin C and the red flesh is a significant source of lycopene. It is mildly diuretic too. This fruit is a real thirst quencher,packed with sweetness and nutrition.
